World war one map depicting the Western Front, Dixmunde, Belgium to Arras, France during World War One 1914 - 1918. The inset map features the Ypres Hills and Flanders Marshes. Major battles are mapped, including Ypres, Arras and Cambrai.
As published at the time of this map, c.1920:
Dixmunde and Arras are the limits of a stretch of Belgian and French territory where were fought some of the fiercest battles of the war. As these engagements were of such importance, separate maps, illustrative of the Battles of Neuve Chapelle, Lens and Arras, Loos and Hohenzollern, Ypres and Messines are featured separately. The present map covers a very important section of the western front whose value was exemplified in prolonged and costly offensives undertaken by both Allies and the Germans. In this section the Ypres sector, scene of Britain's undying heroism, and the district around Lens and Loos so prominently identified with British sacrifice and valor.

We make our own frames from moulding hand finished in our workshops. The standard finish is a distressed black with a gold slip inserted for the larger maps.
We finish the moulding in two other colours, Antique Red and Antique Green. These colours can be used on any of our prints or maps, both reproductions and originals, but have been chosen specifically to suit some of the antique prints and illustrations.
Some of the maps are very big so for weight, shipping and safety reasons we use 3mm acrylic as the glazing material.
