Original map first published c.1920. Republished July 2016.
World war one map depicting the historical boundaries of Romania, including the approximate boundaries of Romanian Lands Transylvania, Moldavia, Bessarabia, Wallachia and The Dubrudja, an area of land along the border of north east Bulgaria and south east Romania, on the coast of the Black Sea.
As published at the time of this map, c.1920:
Rumanian history relates to the area which, in 1914, included the Kingdom of Rumania, Russian Bessarabia, the Asutrian Duchy of Bukowina, and Hungarian Transylvania. This area is mainly occupied at the present time by the Rumanian people, whose speech and habits of mind are akin to France. These people have Slavs all around them except on the north-west, where they march on the borders of Transylvania with the Magyars.

We make our own frames from moulding hand finished in our workshops. The standard finish is a distressed black with a gold slip inserted for the larger maps.
We finish the moulding in two other colours, Antique Red and Antique Green. These colours can be used on any of our prints or maps, both reproductions and originals, but have been chosen specifically to suit some of the antique prints and illustrations.
Some of the maps are very big so for weight, shipping and safety reasons we use 3mm acrylic as the glazing material.
