The crowns of England and Scotland were united in 1603 when James VI Scotland became James I of England. The two countries maintained separate parliaments until the Act of Union took place in 1707 when they merged in to a single parliament at Westminster. This map is a direct result of that union.

All maps are laid on to cloth and, along with the slip cases, are individually made by hand in our Buckinghamshire workshop. Small and medium maps available unframed. See slip cases & marble paper.
Standard maps are framed in mouldings which we produce ourselves in hand painted and waxed black. Additionally, the large maps can also be framed in woods such as Birds Eye Maple and Walnut which we veneer in the traditional way. See Framing.
